Meal Time Monday - Animator's Palate

After a wonderful day on board a Disney Cruise ship there is nothing more fun than a meal at Animator's Palate.

The Sun is setting which means it's dinner time!

Sam was having some bread and doing crosswords. She is unaware of what is about to happen on the "picture" over her right shoulder.

That "picture" is actually an interactive screen where Crush came and talked to our table.  He asked several tables in our area where we were from.  He said he did not know where Nebraska was and asked what ocean it was near.  Throughout the meal there is different entertainment on the screen.  With Dori, Marlin, Bruce, and Nemo and more friends making appearances.  The only one that interacts is Crush.  Crush and crew are only found on the Disney Dream version of Animator's Palate, but Animator's Palate is found on all of Disney's ships.  On the Fantasy Cruise Ship they bring your art work to life.  On the Magic Cruise Ship they have a brand new show with many of your Disney Favorites.  The Wonder Cruise Ship's Animator's Palate goes from black and white to color as your meal develops.

The table numbers are elaborately themed.

A butter knife that looks like a paint brush.

All kinds of art work around to make it look like an animation studio.  Can you tell which ones come to  life?

You can see that there are screens all around.

On our Cruise without kids our table was in the very center of the room.  It looked like they tried to put kids closer to the screens or at least tables of just adults in the middle of the room.  It was not hard to watch and hear Crush from the center of the room.

Animator's Palate Kids Menu Click to make it bigger!

The kids Menu has the basics and few more adventurous choices.

For the kids that can eat macaroni and cheese every day - they will survive a Disney Cruise just fine.

However this is the more adventurous pasta dish that Alden went after.

The Adult menu, where there are too many choices.

Smoked Salmon Tartar for an Appetizer.  As always, if you don't like it ask for something different to try, they will go out of their way to make you happy.

I went with the Herb Crusted Veal Chop!!!  It is hard to choose with so many great options.

The best part of any meal.... Dessert!

Even though it is not on the menu, you can always ask for a Mickey Bar.

Alden devoured his Cookies 'n Cream Sundae before we could even get a picture of it.

A white chocolate fudge cheesecake to finish the meal for me!

Overall this is the most interesting dining experience on the Dream/Fantasy because of the interaction between you and the "show".  The food does not take a back seat to the atmosphere as the meal is on par with the other Disney Cruise Line restaurants.   The best part is it is all included in the cruise fare!
